About the owner
The Founder: Steven Sawyer was born and raised in a small town based on entrepreneurial spirit and community pride. As the son of self-employed business owners, he lived in an environment where you worked for what you had and you sustained your business by treating every customer like they were your only customer. After graduating with an accounting degree from the University of Tampa, he immediately went to work in public accounting performing tax and audit services for clients of a regional firm. In this time, he worked with individuals, small to medium sized companies and not-for-profits.
“My first real world exposure to various industries and levels of wealth helped me understand that regardless of your situation, there is always opportunity to improve performance.”
After six years in public accounting, he moved into banking and led mortgage origination services for a local branch of a national bank. “Once again, in the lending process, I noticed that self-employed or closely-held entities had their own unique challenges of managing and growing their businesses.”
After relocating, he began a career in recruiting for a regional agency and was further exposed to more diversity in the types of operations he helped support and the “people” side of management and growing a business. Eventually, he would move into the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing and help the company grow from $60 million in annual sales to over $120 million. “I think this is where I really grew my passion for working with people to help them achieve their goals,” says Sawyer. “It didn’t matter if they were a billion-dollar global organization or a single site entity, they all had one particular need in common, an objective partner from outside of their walls to help them take a step back from the day-to-day and achieve new levels of success.”

Promereo offers programs exclusive to women-owned, minority-owned, veteran-owned and not-for-profit entities.
